Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area (BGCCA) celebrated the reopening of the Clubhouse pool in Troy, NY with a ribbon cutting ceremony that included the Mayor of Troy.
On Friday, Feb. 24th, BGCCA hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Troy Clubhouse located at 1700, 7th Ave. Participating in the ceremony was Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello, Deputy Mayor Seamus Donnelly, Troy City Council, as well as two Club teens, accompanied by CEO Justin Reuter and Regional Program Director, David Gordon Jr.
The City of Troy was awarded $81,000 in funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to rebuild and improve the pool. Renovations will allow The Club to provide more opportunities for open swimming, swimming lessons, lifeguarding, and water safety classes.
Boys & Girls Clubs would like to thank the City of Troy, Mayor Mantello, Common Council, and the past administration for their critical support. Photos by Soozey Walensky.
